空の側から(From the cockpit)地上の側から(On the ground)。

🇬🇧 English

This is the introduction, so: hello.

I write about two kinds of trip, and they end up in the same notebook.

The first kind happens because of work — cities I land in, walk around for a day, and leave again. The second kind is the opposite: my own hometown, small restaurants, trains, days with no plan at all.

For a while I thought those were two different blogs. They aren’t. They’re the same impulse pointed in two directions: wanting to see what a place is actually like when you’re standing in it, rather than what the guidebook says it should be like.

So there are two categories here. From the cockpit is the first kind. On the ground is the second. If you came for one of them, you’ll probably like the other more than you expect.

Every piece here is written twice, in full — English first, then the same thing in Japanese further down. My English is a work in progress; please bear with me.

If any of this makes you want to go and wander somewhere, that’s the whole point. Say hello on Instagram or X any time.

Anyone here curious about flying? You don't have to be trying to become one — "I wanted to be one as a kid" is plenty. / If you want to fly →

The Night Hawaii Felt Like Japan

No tours, no hikes, no must-see list. A loco moco in Ala Moana, a twenty-minute walk to the lagoon, and free fireworks at eight on a warm Friday night that somehow felt like a Japanese summer.

Nothing Special Here

Shiga is the prefecture everyone drives past on the way to Kyoto. No headline temple, no neon. It's also where I'm from, and every time I come back I think the same thing.
